The Hmong community in Vietnam is in mourning after the shocking discovery of five deceased students buried along the Krong Bong River in Dak Lak province. According to reports from Hmong Public News, on Thursday, June 13, a fisherman from Cu Dram village stumbled upon disturbing evidence — pants, shoes, and partially buried human remains — prompting authorities to excavate the site. Roughly 50 cm beneath the sand, five lifeless bodies were found. All were Hmong boys between the ages of 13 and 19, and all were students who had been reported missing since Monday of that week.

The boys were from PaoChoua and Ea Ba villages in the CuDram area. All were active students in grades 7 through 12 and were identified as Hmong Christians. The cause of death is still unknown, though local authorities are performing autopsies.
