Building Bridges: Cultural Connections Between the Hmong and Native American Communities - Cultural connections enrich our understanding of heritage and community. On Friday, February 24, 2012, the American Indian Resource Center and Wausau Area Hmong Mutual Association will host a unique event celebrating the diversity and unity of the Hmong and Native American cultures.

This event, held at Franklin Elementary School in Wausau, WI, promises an unforgettable experience filled with traditional food, dance, and cultural demonstrations. Running from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it is free and open to the public, welcoming individuals and families from all walks of life.

What to Expect


  • Cultural Food Sampling: Taste the unique and flavorful dishes from Hmong and Native American cuisines.
  • Traditional Performances: Enjoy vibrant dance and music showcasing the deep traditions of both cultures.
