Community Alert: Be Aware of Ber Lor!

The Twin Cities community is on high alert, with an urgent warning issued regarding an individual identified as Ber Lor. This public safety announcement, originating from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, urges residents to exercise extreme caution and be aware of this individual's activities.

Ber Lor is described as a convicted felon with a history of robbery. Reports indicate that he operates under the guise of a "healer" or "doctor," frequently visiting areas such as Hmong Town Market, Hmong Village, and nearby parks. His modus operandi involves preying on the sick and elderly, often demanding money and gold jewelry.

He reportedly tells his victims that he is a medical professional and possesses a "cure-all medicine." He typically requires upfront payment, promising to provide the medicine at a later date once the "order comes in." Furthermore, he claims to be a healer who knows how to perform "khawn koob," a traditional Hmong spiritual practice, and will demand items of yours, often specifically gold necklaces, as part of this. Once he obtains these items, he is known to disappear.

This behavior highlights a serious threat to vulnerable members of our community. It is crucial to warn parents and elderly individuals who may be susceptible to such predatory tactics. The image provided viewable by clicking here is a Hmong photo of Ber Lor, distributed to aid in identification.

Stay vigilant, share this information, and help protect our community members from this individual's deceptive practices. If you encounter Ber Lor or have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the authorities immediately.
